Mrs. Kleinfeld
Fifth Grade Teacher

After teaching children in church at the young age of 13, St. Hilary School fifth grade teacher Mrs. Kleinfeld knew teaching would become her passion. Now she shares her enthusiasm with students not much younger than she was when she first discovered her love of teaching. “Every day is a new challenge full of excitement and growth for my students and me,” she says.
In addition to teaching fifth grade homeroom subjects, Mrs. Kleinfeld teaches English and social studies. She says social studies and, in particular, American history, is her favorite subject to teach. Students’ experience in her classroom involves a large amount of active participation. She believes students learn best through presentations, demonstrations and investigations, rather than passively reading textbooks and completing worksheets.
Mrs. Kleinfeld believes the students at St. Hilary are unique in that they come to school ready and eager to learn. There is a feeling of family at St. Hilary, fostered by the staff working together as a team, she says.
Mrs. Kleinfeld enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She particularly enjoys weekends spent boating on Lake Erie, and singing with her mom and brother. A graduate of the University of Akron, Mrs. Kleinfeld holds a master’s degree in education, with licensure in elementary (1-8) education.
Mrs. Lloyd
Fifth Grade Teacher

After seeing her five children through their education at St. Hilary School, and substitute teaching at the school for seven years, Mrs. Lloyd decided to return to the school full-time as a teacher to do what she loves most. "I truly enjoy working with children," she says. "The spark in their eyes when they 'get it' along with the challenge of presenting information in different ways when they have difficulty understanding makes teaching a very rewarding profession." She adds that no two days are ever quite the same.
Besides teaching fifth grade homeroom subjects, Mrs. Lloyd teaches math and science to all St. Hilary School fifth graders. She has taught many subjects over the years as a substitute teacher, but notes that science and particularly math are her two favorite subjects to teach. "I hope to instill a love of both math and science in all the students using a variety of activities and approaches, especially through the use of technology," she says. "After educating my own five children from kindergarten through eighth grade at St. Hilary and beyond, I feel like I have a true appreciation not only for where my students have been, but where they are going."
Mrs. Lloyd feels the staff at St. Hilary School is truly exceptional, speaking from the perspective of both a parent and a teacher. She believes the teachers are dedicated and interested in what parents think about their children's education, and are well-organized in their lesson plans and classes. This, as well as the opportunity to pray and attend Mass with the students, makes St. Hilary School special and a great place to work and learn, she says.
A graduate of Miami University, Mrs. Lloyd holds a bachelor of science degree in education with specialties in elementary (K-8) education and special education (K-12). She has also taken graduate level classes at both John Carroll University and Notre Dame College. Her five children keep her busy by providing many photos from which she enjoys creating scrapbooks. Three are currently pursuing careers in medicine, music, and marketing, one is in college, and one is in high school. Mrs. Lloyd also enjoys reading and spending time with her first grandchild, Lucas.
Mrs. Moloney
Fifth Grade Teacher

A teacher at St. Hilary since 2004, Mrs. Moloney has also worked at the school in various capacities, including substitute teacher and tutor. Prior to teaching fifth grade, Mrs. Moloney taught first grade at St. Hilay. She teaches reading and religion, as well as homeroom subjects, to her fifth grade students. She loves working with young children.
Mrs. Moloney devotes much of her time to instilling in her students a love of reading. “I love seeing the kids’ reading ability improve, and seeing their pride in their accomplishments,” she says.
The inclusion of religion in everything students do is what Mrs. Moloney feels makes St. Hilary School a special place to learn. As a Catholic, she enjoys practicing her religion and teaching her students about the Catholic faith.
A graduate of the University of Akron and Kent State University, Mrs. Moloney holds a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s degree in early childhood education. She has three children, all of whom are St. Hilary graduates who went on to attend Catholic high school. One currently attends St. Hilary. Outside of school, Mrs. Moloney enjoys being involved in her family’s activities.
