2017-2018 Hot Lunch Program

The St. Hilary School hot lunch program will begin on August 23 for the 2017-2018 school year.  The program provides hot lunches for $2.70 each, with salads from $2.75-$3.00, and is staffed by volunteer parent servers each day.  Openings are available for servers.  Volunteers are needed to pick up soiled towels and aprons one Friday a month, launder them, and return them to school the following Monday.  Volunteers are also always needed for the sub list in the event a scheduled volunteer is unable to work.

Lunches are ordered in advance each month, according to the following schedule:

General Program Information
   


Both white and chocolate milk will be available to every student beginning on the first day of school.  Milk is sold separately from the hot lunches, and is ordered and pre-paid at the beginning of each semester.  Both white and chocolate milk will be available to every student beginning on the first day of school.  Students choosing not to purchase milk may bring other beverages from home.

If a student forgets a lunch during the school year, he or she may ask the lunch servers for a jelly sandwich or cheese sandwich.  In accordance with the school handbook, a $2.70 charge will be assessed for lunch provided in the case of a forgotten lunch.

Due to the time frame in which orders must be placed with the caterers, LATE ORDERS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.   All hot lunch orders are viewed, placed and printed on the St. Hilary School website.  







Instructions for Placing Your Hot Lunch Order on the School Website

1. To begin, click the My School button at the top right of the home page and log in with your user name and password.  If you have not yet created an account on the website, you will need to do this before you will be able to log in.

2. Select the Hot Lunch option on the right.

3. On the left, click Create an Order Online.

4. Select the child for whom you wish to order.  Click Proceed to Step 2.

5. Meals for the current month will display. To view the entire menu for a particular day, hold your cursor over the main entree item.   Select only the meals by date that you want. You can choose only one option per day. Some days have a “more” option for an additional dollar. The system will automatically default to “no meal” if one is not selected.   Click Proceed to Step 3. 
                                                                 

6. Click Confirm and Create Another Order to place orders for each additional child.

OR

Click Submit Online Payment to finalize and place your order. 

7. Click the appropriate button to make a payment online.  YOU MUST PAY FOR EACH ORDER BY THE DUE DATE TO FINALIZE AND SUBMIT FOR PROCESSING.  ORDERS ARE NOT CONSIDERED SUBMITTED AND FINAL UNTIL PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE ONLINE.  Hot Lunch payments may be paid via Pay Pal or via online bill pay through your bank.   Should you wish to place an order but have difficulty or concerns regarding online payment, please contact Becky Vieltorf at rvieltorf@gmail.com.


8.  Please keep a record of your order for each child at the time the order is placed.  You may return to the main Hot Lunch screen to view and print your orders.

               Instructions for Viewing and Printing a Blank Order Form

You may VIEW and PRINT a blank order form when placing your order for a current month.  To VIEW and PRINT a blank order form when placing your order for a current month,  please follow these steps:
Login as usual
Click the Hot Lunch option on the right
Click Print Order Form on the left
Click the printer icon on your screen or the Print link at the top of the form


        Instructions for Viewing and Printing Previously Placed Orders

Past months' orders will remain visible for viewing until ordering opens for the second successive month.  For example, you may view September orders until November ordering begins, October orders until December ordering begins, and so on.

To VIEW a previously placed order, please follow these steps:
Login as usual
Click the Hot Lunch option on the right
Click View Orders on the left
Use the green arrow buttons to select the month you wish to view on the calendar
Select the name of the child whose order you wish to view
Click Update Calendar
View the order on your screen

To PRINT a previously placed order, please follow these steps:
Login as usual
Click the Hot Lunch option on the right
Click View Orders on the left
Use the green arrow buttons to select the month you wish to view on the calendar
Select the name of the child whose order you wish to view
Click Update Calendar
Click Printable Calendar
Using the Page Setup feature on your toolbar, select Landscape as the page format
Click the printer icon on your toolbar to print a landscape format view of your child's order


           Hot Lunch Credits

The following policy applies to hot lunch credits:
1.  Credits are given upon request ONLY for snow days or field trips / class picnics.
     If you paid for a lunch under either circumstance, you may request
     a credit by contacting Becky Vieltorf at 330-867-1540 or bvieltorf@st-hilary.org.
2.  Credits are NOT given for the following reasons:
     a.  Sick days - if your child is sick, you may come to the kitchen
          during lunch and pick up his or her food, OR you may send a
          note requesting the sick student's food instead be given to a
          sibling or friend.
     b.  Your child is absent for personal reasons / vacations.
     c.  Your child decides to pack a lunch instead of eating the lunch
          ordered.
Our lunches are ordered and paid for several weeks in advance, and the caterers offer only large volume credits such as those listed above.  Thank you for your understanding of this policy.
