2023-2024 Scholarship Information

St. Hilary School is pleased to offer a variety of scholarships held by the
St. Hilary Parish Foundation for students currently enrolled at the school in grades K-7.

Scholarship awards will be applied to recipients' tuition for the 2023-2024 school year.

 

ONE Application Form, ONE Parent Essay, ONE Teacher Recommendation,
and, where applicable, ONE Student Essay and ONE Supplemental Financial Information Form
will suffice for ALL scholarships for which a student wishes to apply.
Please read Parent and Student Essay instructions carefully
and note that essays must address applicable criteria for all scholarships sought.
Please carefully follow all instructions on all forms.

 

IMPORTANT DEADLINES TO NOTE:

Requests for Teacher Recommendations must be submitted to teachers by January 6, 2023.

Application materials for all of these scholarships are due by January 13, 2023.

 

IMPORTANT! All students applying for scholarships must also be
re-registered for the 2023-2024 school year by the January 13, 2023
scholarship application deadline.
Students who are not re-registered cannot be considered for scholarships awards.
Re-registration will open January 4, 2023.

The Bernard, Brunovsky, Gilbert, and Knights of Columbus Scholarships also require

a Supplemental Financial Information Form.
Applicants must also complete an online FACTS tuition assistance application.

A description of each scholarship is listed below.
Criteria for each scholarship have been set by the donors establishing them.
These criteria must be addressed in essays.

Ralph and Florence Bernard Scholarship: Two $2,000 scholarships funded through the Ralph and Florence Bernard Fund, based exclusively on financial need as substantiated by supplemental financial information form.  Parent essay explaining the desire for a Catholic education and any special circumstances will be considered to differentiate among applicants who qualify based on need. 

The Rev. Steven Brunovsky Catholic Leadership Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship funded by The Rev. Steven Brunovsky Catholic Leadership Scholarship Fund to be awarded to a student who demonstrates  financial need as substantiated by supplemental financial information form, and exemplifies a strong practice of the Catholic faith as demonstrated in essay(s) and input from school administration and teachers.

Friend of St. Hilary Scholarship: Up to three $2,000 scholarships, with the possibility for additional scholarships, funded through an anonymous donor, based on the desire for a Catholic education as demonstrated in parent essay and student essay if applicable.  Need and special circumstances explained in parent essay will be considered.   Special consideration will be given to families with more than one child. 

Edward L. Gilbert Family Scholarship: One $600 scholarship funded through the Edward L. Gilbert Family Scholarship Fund, for an African-American or Biracial student, and based on financial need as substantiated by supplemental financial information form. 

Mother Teresa Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship funded through St. Hilary Parents’ Association to be awarded to a student who continually displays kindness and generosity, putting other’s needs before his or her own and demonstrating empathy. 

Sr. Carol Joy Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship funded through St. Hilary Parents’ Association  to be awarded to a student who demonstrates a strong desire to better him or herself educationally, striving to improve daily, setting goals not just for high marks but for learning and continually improving scores. 

St. Aloysius Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship funded through St. Hilary Parents’ Association to be awarded to a student who displays his or her love for the Catholic faith and openly displays his or her love for God by demonstrating a loving attitude of grace and appropriateness.

St. Hilary Knights of Columbus Scholarship:  Two $500 scholarships funded through the St. Hilary Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund, based on a student's focus on charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism, and community service as demonstrated in parent essay and student essay, if applicable.  Applicant must also demonstrate financial need as substantiated by supplemental financial information form.

St. Hilary R.E.D. Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship funded through St. Hilary Parents’ Association to be awarded to a student who demonstrates continual RESPECT for faculty and fellow students, EXCELLENCE in academics, and self-DISCIPLINE. 

Striving Saber Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship funded through St. Hilary Parents’ Association to be awarded to a student who demonstrates school pride and positivity in all of his or her classes and serves as a motivator to others in school.
